Delicious, easy and satisfying date snickers are the perfect healthy treat to cure that dessert craving!
I’m always on a quest to find ways that my family and I can eat healthier. When I was doing Whole30, I was SO missing a sweet treat after dinner. Now I know you aren’t supposed to re-create desserts on Whole30, but honestly these date “snickers” helped curb my cravings and kept me going. I defiantly didn’t feel deprived having these as an option to turn to when I just wanted a little something sweet.
I normally use pitted deglet dates because they are a smaller date. If you are wanting to make your treats a little bit larger, I would recommend using medjool dates instead!
The best part about these is that they are so easy to make. They don’t require a lot of time or ingredients, and they keep for a long time in the freezer. If you are trying to eat healthier and/or reduce sugar in your diet, I would recommend making a big batch of these and storing them in an airtight container in the freezer. You could keep them in your refrigerator, but they will obviously be softer than if they were frozen. I think the frozen date gives them more of that chewy “snickers” texture.
My favorite peanut butter! I love that it comes in a glass jar (no leaching plastics), it’s organic/non-gmo, and only contains peanuts and salt. PSA: Make sure you do not get the “No-Stir” version, as there is added palm oil in that variety. As a result of no added palm oil, you do have to do some extra mixing.
Why are dates healthy?
Dates are not normally something I add to my daily diet. Come to find out, they are quite healthy. They come from the date palm tree, grown in tropical regions. Dates pack a significant amount of fiber (prevents constipation and beneficial to blood sugar) and antioxidants (prevents free-radicals linked to risk of diseases). They have also been shown to promote brain health and function, as well as promoting natural labor. (Healthline)
Celtic Sea Salt, non-gmo with no additives and no processing. I like this “Flower of the Sea” variety for my snicker dates because it is a little bit flakey and sits nicely on top of the chocolate.
These are always in my house! I especially love that they are dairy-free and taste great!

Did you make these? How did they turn out? Tell me in the comments!
